Power Predictor

We designed a visual interface that could give users a better understanding of the numbers they were looking at.

We took a text-heavy website to a simpler, more informative design

Along with comparative data for different models, we also broke down the financial analysis.

Front of the box design. Website and other collateral to match.

Back of the box. With such a technical product, we had to work hard to make every word count.
The power predictor is a brilliant product: it’s an affordable way to check if you could generate enough power on your property to justify the huge outlay for a wind turbine or solar panels. They also had masses of data that they were analysing, but found that users were not only overwhelmed by it, but also couldn’t find it.
Throughout a comprehensive redesign, we aimed to keep the data but display it in the simplest, most effective manner. This required a complete rebuild of their website’s structure. It also needed to be flexible enough to work in multiple languages and accommodate either very little or masses of data. I was responsible for the interface design, html/css integration, basic user testing and more. As part of this process, I also redesigned their product box and advertising collateral. (2010)
